I am unable to follow this tutorial

Hi ... I am unable to follow this tutorial. It seems that the version of Elementor that Travis is using is older than than the version that I have installed in WordPress. I am using the latest version that the WordPress plugin tool installs (4.1.3). Could anyone please tell me which version of elementor is Travis using for his tutorial? Also do you know if I can I download the same version that Travis is using so that I can follow along with him.? Thanks

Hi there Peter Mingione ! 👋

I'm so sorry you've hit a roadblock! I'm also sorry for the delayed response, we just had a 3 day weekend due to a holiday on Friday.

Wow ... they a lot of pushed major changes quickly! 😭😅

I just opened up the project I built while filming this and it is Elementor version 3.35.7

It appears you're able to rollback the version of Elementor by:

  • Going to the WordPress Dashboard
  • On the top left of sidebar select "Editor"
  • Select "Tools" in the new sidebar that opens
  • Select the "Version Control" tab

You should hopefully see a "Rollback to Previous Version" with a little dropdown. In that dropdown you should be able to find 3.35.7 and then click the reinstall button next to it.

Let me know if this works out for you please. I'll get to writing update notes and see what the huge and breaking changes are. Thank you!!

I just created a fresh project with the new version of Elementor installed and they have made some changes to the UI but I notice that if you scroll down in the elements (or widgets) sidebar, you'll see

  • Atomic Elements (new)
  • Atomic Forms (new)
  • Custom Widget

Then you'll see

  • Layout
  • Basic
  • General

These are what's used in this course and the UI is still the same for those.

So if you don't rollback to a previous version, I would just minimize those "Atomic" options they put at the top while you're following along and then maybe experiment with them later. If you hit any other huge or confusing changes with Elementor though, please let me know. It's super helpful that you brought this to my attention and I really appreciate it.

This course is only 2 months old and I didn't think it would appear dated this quickly 😅
